We met up with Nikki & Jarred last July while in Ohio for engagement photos – they met in the conservation club at the University of Dayton (where Renee also went to school) so when they found out we lived in Hawaii, they wanted yet another UD person at their simple, small backyard wedding in the North Shore mountain town of Hauula, HI. The main guests present were fellow friends from UD and immediate family. Nikki’s grandma made the trip from Japan to help dress her in a traditional Japanese kimono – a process that took about 1.5 hours and had her grandma wiping the sweat from her brow several times as she served Nikki in a hot little closet in their Airbnb at Hale Koa Estate. Friends & fam hungout in the front yard playing giant Jenga, drinking Kona beers, and helping set up for the ceremony. N&J walked down the isle together, said their vows below the Hauula mountains, laughed a little, broke some glass, and took an hour to themselves as husband & wife while friends & fam started enjoying cocktail hour. When the rain hit during their reception, friends again came to the rescue and pushed the puddles back to open up the dance floor.
Thanks to these amazing people for serving Nikki & Jarred on their wedding day:
