Raymond reached out to us to surprise his girlfriend, Mandy, with one of the biggest questions in life: for her to marry him! We started planning with a video call and through Whats App as they were coming from Hong Kong, China. We set the time and place (Hanauma Bay Rim Trail) for him to pop the question to his girlfriend of 7 years. He chose Hanauma Bay because of the deep blue ocean, the bay, beach, and Koko Head in the background. About 15 min before she was to be surprised, he started flooding my phone with messages as they got lost going up the trail, but after a few exchanged photos, they made it to where I was. He casually asked for a photo on his phone as I was “just taking landscape photos of the area” and then he got down on one knee 🙂 Mandy was so shocked (& a little shy) that she covered her face with her hat to hide the tears and once Raymond told her I was there to photograph the moment, they both started laughing out loud. We spent the next hour together, descending the trail and then driving over to Waimanalo Beach for the rest of our time together. This was such a fun and sweet moment to witness, thanks Raymond & Mandy for inviting me into your lives 🙂 -Reese (& Renee)
