Some of the best moments from H&M’s wedding in Honolulu was the way her dad looked at her & teared up when he first saw her in her wedding dress, Matt’s parent’s getting emotional during the entire ceremony, their symbolic – but windy – butterfly release, Hannah’s run in with the sliding door, their gorgeous portraits at Diamond Head, their emotional and intentional wedding vows that had the whole room in tears, and a unique photo-bomber while walking to the pier in Waikiki.
This month brought about more rainbows, Thanksgiving with friends, big surf, and pictures of the bump… If you don’t see us for awhile, it’s because baby K is here and we’re adoring everything about him/her 🙂
Amanda & Josh planned a small and simple wedding with their closest friends and family at the base of the Ko’olau Mountains in the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden. They paid $20 for a campsite permit which allowed them to have their ceremony and “reception” in the botanical gardens.
This year has taught us a lot in that we’ll no longer be taking work back in the Midwest so that when we’re there we can just be with our families “full-time” and put work where it should go for those two weeks: on the back burner 🙂
August: a month of beach days with friends, church on the beach, and visiting Uncle Glenn and Auntie Ruth at their A-frame up in Pupukea which he built from his own hands.
They were a little shy, but also very cute with one another so they just stayed close and giggled throughout (and Dave gave the occasional butt grab to loosen things up – see below!)
That beauty is humanity: the love, the support, the encouragement, the mundane (i.e. the three groomsmen video recording Mary Meg & Alex’s first dance), the “loss” of your daughter or son to marriage, the crazy dance floor shenanigans, innocence, warmth, and a heck of a lot more!
you are beautiful, your wedding will be beautiful, and the truth is beautiful; we will give you images that honor who you are
These two were such a blast to photograph because they were 100% truly themselves throughout it all and it shows in the images that follow…
These two will be getting married right down the street from us in Hawaii next spring, so we were stoked to hang out and document this season of engagement for them at the place they met.
Leanne & David eloped to Hawai’i after dating long distance for a year. They decided they wanted something simple and sweet that they could go back and share/celebrate with their friends & family!
Midwest summers (lightning bugs, $3 watermelons and DQ’s on every corner) are magic in their own way.
