One of our best friends, the crazy talented musician Devin Henning, proposed to his Brazilian bride out at Waimea Bay…on a SUP board…with the ring in his boardshorts. That is a Hawaiian proposal at it’s finest! In the winter time, the swells can reach 30-40ft and Raquel is one of the pro surfers crazy enough to paddle out into them! So Dev thought what better place to ask for her hand in marriage than out at her favorite break on the planet 🙂
They repeated over & over again how this was more of a backyard BBQ with a wedding in the middle of the evening 🙂 The wedding day was exactly that: yard games, little girls looking at Victoria as though she were a princess, tons of hugs, a Spotify DJ and impromptu dance floor in the Airbnb living room, and finally a late night bridal party dip in the pool!
Becca & Brandon’s wedding was by far one of the most unique weddings we’ve had the privilege to photograph. It wasn’t unique because of the details, but because of the people and the story.
They were so comfortable in their own skin and confident in who they were created to be 🙂 They claim to eat more Portillo’s than anyone else in the city of Chicago and are a true Superman/Lex Luther combo; Mackenzie being superman and Lex being the Kryptonotic Luther haha.
It was super important for D&M to have plenty of images where their loved ones were having fun in the beauty of the location they chose! With yard games and mountain views, it wasn’t hard for anyone to enjoy themselves. These were some of the most heartfelt & genuine people we’ve ever met and are excited to share their wedding day. You will see how Dani’s grandma just adored the two of them, the respect her brothers have for her and her parents, the crazy dance off to choose which table got dinner first, and kids being….well, kids!
Megan brings the spunk while Travis is quiet and reserved, but during their vows they both had wet eyes and wet cheeks as well as their four witnesses 🙂 It was such a simple beach wedding, which is exactly what these two wanted after being together for so long. It was intentional, emotional, and intimate. It was such an honor to get close to these two and their four loved ones as they looked on with love in their eyes, joy in their smiles, and warmth in their hugs.
Amanda & Josh planned a small and simple wedding with their closest friends and family at the base of the Ko’olau Mountains in the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden. They paid $20 for a campsite permit which allowed them to have their ceremony and “reception” in the botanical gardens.
With the mountains reigning in the background, the blue ocean reflecting the puffy clouds and the cliff on which he would ask her to be his wife, this was exactly what Xavier had in mind when proposing on Oahu! He pulled it off, but not without a little speculation from Natasha (as all proposal stories go).
Tiff and Ryan wanted relaxed and genuine engagement photos that were “them” so they chose the place where Jurassic Park was filmed because they love the movies.
you are beautiful, your wedding will be beautiful, and the truth is beautiful; we will give you images that honor who you are
These two will be getting married right down the street from us in Hawaii next spring, so we were stoked to hang out and document this season of engagement for them at the place they met.
When Jenn contacted us about photographing this, her reason was simple: so their “three precious gifts could see and experience what love ought to be.”
Meet Duo, who planned proposing to Ru from his office in China down to the smallest detail of picking up a peony bouquet, her favorite. And Ru, who designed (!!!) her own blue silk dress and dabbed little sparkles by the corners of her eyes.
